Welcome to the homepage of Queen City Running & Walking Club.
As we enter our 3rd year, we are very excited to be offering some new and different options to the Greater Cincinnati running & walking community that we hope meet or exceed your expectations. We are also updating our website in an effort to make it more user-friendly and easy to navigate. Below is a brief overview of what we have planned for 2017. Hope you enjoy!


2017 Flying Pig Marathon/Spring Training - Running
Our 2017 Flying Pig/Spring Marathon training is scheduled to begin on Saturday, December 31…a great way to kick off the New Year! We anticipate over 125 Marathon runners to join us for this training season and hope you join us. We will offer a variety of mid-week workout options (2 on Tuesday and 2 on Wednesday) at various sites around the Greater Cincinnati area. Then on the weekends, all of the Marathon runners will meet together at one site for the week’s long run workout. Though designed for the Flying Pig Marathon, we can easily cater to those with a different race in mind. We will provide “on-course” coaches, planned routes, hydration/fuel stations, safety lights and the motivation and support that comes from a “team-like” environment. 2017 Flying Pig Half Marathon/Spring Training - Running
Our 2017 Flying Pig/Spring Half Marathon training is scheduled to begin on Saturday, January 7…a week later than the Marathon group. We anticipate over 400 Half Marathon runners to join us for this training season and hope you are one of those who decide to join us. As stated above, we will offer a variety of mid-week workout options (2 on Tuesday and 2 on Wednesday) at various sites around the Greater Cincinnati area. Then on the weekends, all of the Half Marathon runners will meet together at one site for the week’s long run workout. Though designed for the Flying Pig Half Marathon, we can easily cater to those with a different race in mind. We will provide “on-course” coaches, planned routes, hydration/fuel stations, safety lights and the motivation and support that comes from a “team-like” environment. Whether you are an experienced or novice half-marathoner, we can help provide you with the push and the support you need to reach your goals. 2017 Flying Pig/Spring Training - WALKING
Our 2017 Flying Pig/Spring training for Walkers is scheduled to begin on Saturday, December 31…a great way to kick off the New Year! We anticipate over 100 walkers to join us for this training season and hope you join us. We will offer a mid-week workout option on Wednesday and a long walk workout on Saturday. We will utilize a variety of sites in the Greater Cincinnati area, designed to help prepare you for the 2017 Flying Pig race of your choosing. Though designed for the Flying Pig Marathon, we can easily cater to those with a different race in mind. We will provide “on-course” coaches, planned routes, hydration/fuel stations, safety lights and the motivation and support that comes from a “team-like” environment. GetUp’NGo 5K/10K Training Programs
The GetUp’NGo programs are designed for beginning runners, run/walk and walkers. These groups will meet twice weekly to help you build up your endurance for the planned “goal” race. We will be offering two sites – The Queen City Running Store in White Oak and Hyde Park Methodist – for these training seasons. Though designed for those just starting out, we will certainly welcome experienced participants who are in search of a group to train with. We will provide a monthly training schedule and coaches to help lead you through each workout session. Planned offerings for 2017 are Flying Pig 5K/10K – begins February 27; Hyde Park Blast/Pray-Hope-Believe – begins on May 8; and Sophie’s Angel/Queen Bee – begins on July 31. Hyde Park Blast/Pray~Hope~Believe Training – Running & Walking
As a follow-up to our Pig training season, we make a nice segue into some shorter distance training, built around a couple of local races - the Hyde Park Blast (June 24) and the Pray~Hope~Believe 5k (July 4). Though shorter in distance, many in our group welcome and enjoy the quicker-intense workouts…especially in the warmer months.  This training begins on Tuesday, May 9 and meets twice weekly for workouts. In addition, we will offer some optional “off-day” races and workouts. This is a great option for those new or just getting back into running or walking.

Fall Marathon & Half Marathon Training – Running
Our Fall Marathon & Half Marathon Running training kicks off in early July as we target the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon/Half in November and The Queen Bee Half in October as our Fall training races. Similar to our Spring training, we will offer a variety of mid-week workout options (2 on Tuesday and 2 on Wednesday) at various sites around the Greater Cincinnati area. Then on the weekends, will meet together at one site for the week’s long run workout. Though designed for the above races, we can easily cater to those with a different race in mind. We will provide “on-course” coaches, planned routes, hydration/fuel stations, safety lights and the motivation and support that comes from a “team-like” environment. Whether you are an experienced or novice marathoner, we can help provide you with the push and the support you need to reach your goals. Fall Marathon & Half Marathon Training – Walking
Our Fall Marathon & Half Marathon Walking training kicks off in mid-June as we target the Queen Bee Half in October as one of our Fall training races. Though we certainly can alter the training schedule to fit different races/events, this will be our primary fall race. We will offer a mid-week workout option on Wednesday and a long walk workout on Saturday. We will utilize a variety of sites in the Greater Cincinnati area, designed to help prepare you for the 2017 Queen Bee Half or the race of your choosing. We will provide “on-course” coaches, planned routes, hydration/fuel stations, safety lights and the motivation and support that comes from a “team-like” environment. Whether you are an experienced or novice walker, we can help provide you with the push and the support you need to reach your goals.   • Fall Marathon & Half Marathon Training - $80
  • Hyde Park Blast/Pray~Hope~Believe Training - $40
  • GetUp’NGo Training (Spring, Summer or Fall) - $40
  • Full Year Training Option (includes Spring, Fall & HPB/PHB Training) - $170
