Welcome to the home of Queen City Running & Walking Club – now in our 4th year in the Greater Cincinnati area.
Whether you are an experienced or novice runner, run/walker or walker, we have a program for you. Our current group membership is over 700 runners & walkers, which simply means that you will have plenty of company out on the roads and during our workouts.


Below is a list of our Spring/Flying Pig Training offerings for 2019, along with some additional details that should prove useful to you in making your training selection. Thanks in advance for considering Queen City Running & Walking Club.

2019 Flying Pig Marathon/Spring Training – Running
Our 2018 Flying Pig/Spring Marathon training begins Saturday, January 5. We anticipate having over 150 Marathon runners for the 2019 Pig Training season, and you are welcome to join us! The organized Marathon workouts will be Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm and on Saturday mornings at 7:00/7:30am, which will take place at various locations in the Cincinnati area. Included in these options are Hyde Park, Norwood, Oakley, Newport, Covington, West Chester & White Oak. Wednesday workouts will be a mix of speed, hills, etc. with Saturdays being our Long Run workout of the week. We will also offer a West-Side & West Chester workout option on Wednesdays at 6:30pm. Beginning in February, we will offer a Sunday morning makeup run option for those unable to join us for the Saturday sessions. We will provide you with a monthly training schedule, weekly workout plans, a 15 member coaching staff at a variety of paces, plenty of motivation and camaraderie through the group, and hydration/nutrition stops along the routes.

West Chester Flying Pig Training Option – Marathon & Half Marathon Running
We will again be offering a West Chester training program geared towards the ’19 Flying Pig Marathon & Half Marathon event. This program will begin on Saturday, January 5 and meet on Saturdays at 7:30am and Wednesdays at 6:30pm. We will provide you with a monthly training schedule, weekly workout plans, a 5-6 member coaching staff at a variety of paces, plenty of motivation and camaraderie through the group, and hydration/nutrition stops along the routes.

2019 Flying Pig Half-Marathon/Spring Training – Running & Run/Walk
Our 2019 Flying Pig/Spring Half-Marathon training begins Saturday, January 5. We anticipate having over 400 Half Marathon runners for the 2019 Pig Training season and hope you are one of those who decide to join us! For the Half-Marathon group, our primary workout night will be on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm at a variety of locations in the Cincinnati area, including Hyde Park, Oakley, Norwood, Newport & Covington. We will also offer a West-Side & West Chester workout option on Wednesdays at 6:30pm. Our Long Run workout of the week will take place on Saturdays at 8:00/8:30am. Beginning in February, we will offer a Sunday morning makeup run option available for those unable to join us for the Saturday sessions. We will provide you with a monthly training schedule, weekly workout plans, a 20 member coaching staff at a variety of paces, plenty of motivation and camaraderie through the group, and hydration/nutrition stops along the routes.

2019 Flying Pig/Spring Training - Walking
Our 2019 Flying Pig/Spring training for Walkers is scheduled to begin in January 2019. We anticipate over 100 walkers for the 2019 Pig Training season and hope you can join us as well! Workout options will be on Wednesdays at 6:30pm and on Saturdays at 7:00am. We will utilize a variety of sites in the Cincinnati area, with primary locations being in Norwood, Hyde Park & Oakley. This is the city’s largest “Walking Program” designed to help prepare you for the 2018 Flying Pig race of your choosing. We will provide you with a monthly training schedule, weekly workout plans, an 8 member coaching staff at a variety of paces, plenty of motivation and camaraderie through the group, and hydration/nutrition stops along the routes. Note: We have a small group of Walkers that meet along with our Half Marathon runners on Tuesday nights. Any are welcome to attend this workout option. Join us for the Full Year of Training (Spring, Summer & Fall) for the low, low price of $170….now thru December 31! Your registration includes our Spring Marathon/Half Training, our Summer Hyde Park Blast Training and our Fall Marathon/Half Training along with a $20 Gift Card to Queen City Running!


2019 Program Options & Cost

“Early Bird” Full Year Training Option (includes Spring, Summer & Fall Training seasons) - $170 and includes a $20 Queen City Running Store Gift Certificate! (If Registered by 12/31/18)

“Early Bird” Flying Pig/Spring Marathon & Half Marathon Training - $75 (If registered by 12/31/18)

*All programs include Queen City sportswear item, 15% Store Discount on most in-store purchases, Happy Hours, Local Race Discounts, QCRC social functions, and much, much more! One of additional perks of the program is that members are free to attend as many different weekly workouts that they wish, including bouncing around from Marathon to Half Marathon and so on. We will also offer Sunday Makeup Run options beginning in early February. And finally, though the base of the program is designed for the Flying Pig in May, we can easily adapt the schedule to accommodate a different race of your choosing.
